Clock-in tablet
What the clock-in tablet is, how it works and what you need to set it up.
The clock-in tablet is a shared clock-in point: a tablet fixed at the entrance, reception, warehouse or workshop, where employees clock in with their PIN without using their phone.
How it works
- An administrator creates a tablet licence in the admin panel and chooses which employees can clock in on it.
- The Inallow tablet app is installed on the tablet and you sign in with that licence. You only have to do this once.
- The tablet shows the list of employees. Each one taps their photo, enters their 4-digit PIN and clocks in.
The buttons are the same as in the mobile app: Start, Pause, Continue, Permission and Stop. The clock-ins appear in the admin panel as made from the tablet.
What you need
- An Android tablet or an iPad with a stable internet connection. The tablet does not store clock-ins offline.
- The Inallow tablet app:
- Android: Google Play
- iPad: App Store
- A tablet licence created in the admin panel, in Tablets. Only users with permission to manage tablets can create it.
- Each employee must have a 4-digit PIN in their record. When an employee is created, the admin panel assigns a random one that can be changed.
- Each employee must be allowed to clock in from the tablet. They are by default; see Tablets.
How the tablet behaves
- Screen always on: the app stops the tablet from locking.
- Standby: after 1 minute without being touched, the tablet goes back to the standby screen with the time and date. Tap Press to continue to return to the list.
- List kept up to date: the list of employees and their status update automatically every 30 seconds.
- Server time: the tablet uses the Inallow server's time, not its own. If your company has time accuracy turned on and the tablet's time drifts too far, the tablet does not allow clocking in until it is corrected.
- Language: the administrator chooses it when creating or editing the licence in the admin panel.
- No sign-out: the tablet stays linked to the licence. It has no button to sign out.
- No location: clock-ins made on the tablet do not store the location.
