Tablets

Create tablet licences, choose which employees appear on each one and manage their passwords.

In Tablets you manage the shared clock-in tablets, the ones placed in a reception area, a warehouse or a workshop so that several employees can clock in on the same device. Each tablet uses a tablet licence: an account of its own that the tablet app logs in with. On the tablet, each employee looks for their name and types their PIN to clock in.

To open it, click Tablets in the admin panel's side menu, under Management.

Parts of the screen

In the header you have:

  • Search...: filters the tablets by their identifier or their licence.
  • Create (the button with the plus sign): adds a new tablet.

Below there is one card per tablet with:

  • The License: an email ending in @tablet.inallow.io. It is the username the tablet logs in with.
  • The Id: the name you have given it so you can recognise it.
  • The License code.

And three buttons:

ButtonWhat it does
Modify (the pencil)Changes the identifier or the language, or removes the tablet.
Manage members (the people)Chooses which employees appear on that tablet.
Change password (the key)Sets a new password for the licence.

Tablets do not appear in Employees, because they are not people.

Create a tablet

Open the window

Click Create. New tablet opens.

Fill in the details

  • License: it is generated automatically and cannot be changed. Write it down: you will need it on the tablet.
  • Id (required): it comes with a random code. Change it to a name that helps you recognise the tablet, for example "Bilbao reception".
  • Language (required): the language the app will be shown in on that tablet.
  • Password (required): the password the tablet will log in with. Click Generate to create a random one. Write it down before saving.

Save

Click Create. You will see "Tablet license has been purchased" and the new tablet's card.

Log in on the tablet

Install the Inallow clock-in app for tablets on the tablet, from Google Play or the App Store. When you open it, type the License in the email field and the password you set. You can only log in with a tablet account: if you use an employee's email, the app will reject it.

Step by step: Install a clock-in tablet.

Choose which employees appear on the tablet

By default, a tablet shows all the company's active employees. If you have several centres, each tablet will normally show only the employees who clock in on it.

Open the members

Click Manage members on the tablet's card.

Tick the employees

Tick the box of each employee who should appear. Use Search... to find someone, and Select all or Deselect all to tick or untick everyone at once.

Save

Click Modify. You will see "Tablet's users have been updated". If you close with unsaved changes, you will be asked whether you want to save them.

Modify or remove a tablet

Click Modify on the card. In the window you can:

  • Change the Id and the Language, and click Modify to save. You will see "Modified license".
  • Click Delete to cancel the licence. You will see "Licensed released" and the tablet will no longer be able to log in.

The licence (the email) cannot be changed. If you need another one, create a new tablet.

Change a tablet's password

Click Change password on the card. Type the new password in both fields (or click the button to generate a random one) and confirm. You will have to log in on the tablet again with the new password when the app asks you to.

What an employee needs to clock in on the tablet

  • To be active (not suspended).
  • To appear on the tablet: either the tablet shows everyone or they are one of its members.
  • To know their 4-digit PIN. You can see and change it in their record, in the PIN field. See Create an employee.
  • To have the Tablet platform allowed in their record in Inallow Admin. Otherwise, when clocking in they will see "You are not authorised to make signings via this app".
