Reasons

Set the reasons your employees choose when they take a break or go out on leave during the working day.

When an employee interrupts their working day from the app or the tablet, they tap Pause or Permissions and choose a reason: "Lunch", "Coffee", "Doctor", "Personal errand"… On this screen you decide which reasons appear in each case.

You will find this screen in Settings › Reasons.

Reason types

Each reason is one of these two types:

TypeWhen it is usedExamples
PauseThe employee taps Pause: a short interruption during the working day.Lunch, coffee, rest.
Work permitThe employee taps Permissions: they leave work for a justified reason.Doctor, personal errand, client visit.

The list shows the Name of each reason, with an icon that shows whether it is a break or a leave reason. You can search with Search..., create a reason with Create (+) and open one with Modify (pencil).

  • Pause without reason, of the break type.
  • Exit without reason, of the leave type.

How the employee sees it

  • If there is only one reason of that type (for example, only Pause without reason), the app chooses it automatically and shows "Reason selected automatically".

Where reasons are used

  • Agreements: you can set certain breaks to count as time worked, for example the snack break. See Collective agreements.
  • Presence: while an employee is on a break or on leave, presence shows the reason and how long they have been away.
  • Dossiers: the Daily report has a column for each break reason used. In the Excess hours report, leave time is added to time worked when the excess is calculated. See Dossiers.
