Projects

Create the projects your employees choose when they start the working day and decide who sees each one.

A project shows what the employee is working on: a client, a building site, an internal task. When the employee taps Start in the app or on the tablet, they choose the project, and the time worked is recorded against it. That way you can find out how much time goes into each project in the Projects report in Dossiers.

You will find this screen in Settings › Projects.

Project list

ColumnWhat it shows
NameThe project's name.
ActiveA tick if the project is active and a cross if it is turned off.
DepartmentAn icon if the project is limited to one department. Hover over it to see which one.

From the list you can search with Search..., create a project with Create (+) and open one with Modify (pencil).

The list always includes the No Project project. It is Inallow's default option for anyone who is not working on a specific project, and it cannot be modified or deleted.

Department filter

If, as well as being an administrator, you supervise a department, a filter button appears next to the search box:

  • On: shows only the active projects of the department you have selected at the top, in Department, and projects with no department. Its tooltip says "Click here to view all projects".
  • Off: shows all projects. Its tooltip says "Click here to view the projects from the selected department".

Create or modify a project

FieldWhat to enter
NameThe project's name. Up to 32 characters. It cannot be repeated. Required.
DepartmentOptional. If you choose a department, only that department's employees will see it. If you leave it empty, everyone will see it.
ActiveA switch. Projects that are turned off are not shown to employees when they clock in. New projects are created active.

Click Create or Modify to save. To delete a project, open it and click Delete.

Which projects each employee sees

When clocking in, an employee sees:

  • No Project.
  • Active projects with no department.
  • Active projects of the departments they belong to, as a member or as a supervisor.

If they only have one project available, the app selects it automatically and shows "Project selected automatically". Departments are managed in Departments.

Rules to keep in mind

  • If you delete a department, its projects are left with no department and are shown to all employees. Review them afterwards.
  • While an employee is working on a project, presence shows them as working, with the project's name.
